City of Belfast International Rose Trials
The trial grounds are set in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, where rose breeders exhibit their varieties.
The roses are judged by a local panel for two seasons an international panel adjudicates every July.
Belfast hosted the World Rose Convention in 1991 and the rose gardens were awarded the Plaque of Merit in 2000.
The Trials
The Rose Society of Northern Ireland and the International Rose Trials at Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Park celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2014.
Judging
The judging of the rose trials is carried out by the Rose Society’s panel of judges. Get in touch if you are interested in judging.
